MY TOP SIX LIPSTICKS FOR FALL

MY TOP SIX LIPSTICKS FOR FALL

Now while you would never know that it is Fall with the over 30°C weather, I still can’t help but get into the spirit for Autumn. What better season to pull out the dark browns, reds and berry shades that are oh so beautiful? Berry and wine tones are my favourite to wear during the colder months, so I’m sure you’ll be able to see a theme going on here. One can never have too many vampy lipsticks!

LipSense Liquid Lip Color in Sheer Berry

Bold lips can be a commitment and also they can tend to be unforgiving. Darker colours can be very hard to apply, and things can go downhill very quickly when it comes to wearing them. LipSense is a great option for anyone who wants to rock that dark lip and not have to worry about it smudging and moving around. I have a full in-depth review of LipSense on my blog if you’re interested in learning about it a bit more. Sheer Berry is a shade that can be worn in a few layers for a lighter colour, or built up for an intensely pigmented look. It can tend to be a bit patchy, so very thin layers will do the trick to getting even coverage. Now while LipSense does take a bit of work compared to your traditional lipstick, the staying power is second to none!

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Damned

Damned is a stunning cool-toned berry shade that I can’t get enough of. The pencil design makes it really easy to get a precise application, especially around the lip line. If Fashion Revival and Rebel had a baby, this would be it. Its magenta base with the purple undertone is out of this world -a true wine/berry shade that will look great on anyone!

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Mother

The runner-up for the longest lasting liquid lipstick has to go to Kat Von D.  I love how this colour is much brighter than the others, but still very appropriate for Fall. It’s a matte cool toned pink that darkens down once applied onto the lips. Now while it’s not completely transfer-proof like LipSense, it definitely stays put for hours. It does feel a bit drying on the lips, but isn’t terribly uncomfortable and something I can look past for its longevity. Kat has a great selection of vampy colours that are worth a look!

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Beetroot

This is the darkest lipstick out of the bunch and by far the most luxurious in my opinion. Bite Beauty makes some of my favourite lipsticks because they feel so fantastic on the lips. They are full of lip-loving ingredients like shea, jojoba, argan and almond oil just to name a few. They also smell good enough to eat as they smell reminiscent of lemon pie – who doesn’t want that on their lips? You get bold colour in just one swipe and they truly win in terms of comfort.

MAC Lipstick in Fashion Revival

You know that brand that you can always count on because they are consistently amazing? For me, it’s MAC. I can always count on MAC lipsticks and now have quite the collection of them. I have tried many of their formulas and I find their mattes to be among some of the most comfortable out there. Fashion Revival is a gorgeous matte raspberry shade that just embodies Fall, if that is even possible. It was limited edition, but it is one of my go-to’s!

MAC Lipstick in Rebel

If you are on the hunt for berry toned lipsticks then I am sure you’ve already heard about Rebel. I was a bit intimidated by Rebel at first because it looks like a very dark purple in the tube, but it surprisingly lightens up when applied to the lips. It has a satin finish so it isn’t a flat colour on the lips and adds a bit more dimension which I find makes it more wearable. You can pair this with a dark purple lip liner if you’re wanting to deepen the colour.

  • I know berry shades are super popular in Autumn but I always feel like with my dark hair and pale skin that the end up looking too gothy on me, but I looove a deep, blood red. So like Kat Von D’s Vampira as opposed to Mother, or MAC’s Diva instead of Rebel.

    • The Amuse Bouche formula is top notch! I haven’t tried the liquefied lipstick yet, but I am definitely going to as I am already so impressed by the Bite Beauty range in general!
