Sheer Beauty Picks from Pixi

Sheer Beauty with Pixi Beauty

As much as I enjoy going full face glam, more days than not my makeup tends to be more on the subdued side. With a little one under one-year-old, I don’t have much time to spend in front of my vanity as I once did, so I tend to go for an easy and effortless look that makes me look put together and I can achieve in under 20 minutes. #momlife

Pixi has been one of my favourite drugstore brands for quite a while, and I’ve had a chance to sample most of their products and use quite a few in my daily routine. Since we are talking about a more subtle and sheer makeup, I wanted to share some of my picks that I love and reach for on the regular.

Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm

I have a few shades of this balm and used them quite a bit in the Summer (my most used being Lucent Glow) because they were just so easy to put on, no mirror required. They have a nice minty scent to them, very reminiscent of the Revlon balms from back in the day that everyone was obsessed with, which gives a nice tingle to the lips. These balms just have a lovely luminous and sheer texture to them that feels really lightweight on the lips and is extremely comfortable. The balmy texture won’t last ages on the lips, but I like how they are just a great no-fuss option that you can throw on and run out the door.

Pixi MultiBalm

I love a good double-duty makeup product and this one is perfect for that quick, easy, and effortless makeup look. The Multibalm can be used for lips and cheeks and is very easy to work with. Just place a few swipes along your cheeks and lips and blend into place with your finger. It sheers down really well and feels nice on the skin – a bonus for us drier skinned ladies. I love to work with creme products as they are much more natural looking on the skin and the fact that this is a 2-in-1 product makes it perfect to throw in your makeup bag or bring on the go.

Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel

This product is hands down my favourite from the bunch because of it’s amazing lasting power. I wasn’t expecting much from this cheek gel at first, but I was pleasantly surprised. As the name suggests, this is a sheer cheek gel that gives a healthy glow to the skin. Believe me when I say that you only need the tiniest amount of product as it goes a long way, but I like to build it up in a few layers until I get the colour payoff that I am looking for. Once it has dried, it doesn’t budge or smudge and stays looking fresh throughout the day. It also adds a bit of moisture to the skin and is so beautifully natural on the skin. Love it!

What are your sheer beauty favourites?

I haven’t actually tried any of Pixi’s makeup but do like their skincare and want to pick up some more from the range. It’s a shame that internationally they seem to only be able to stock certain products and not everything they make because I’d love to be able to root around a big Pixi section in store.
