Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation

Lancôme is one of those brands that consistently have great products and I have enjoyed trying out their offerings for years. I’ve taken a liking to their range of cushion products, one of my favourite Lancôme products happens to be their Cushion Blush Subtil which I wear all the time, and I was very excited to get my hands on the Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation* ($55 CAD). I have the second lightest shade, Ivoire 110, and sadly it is too dark for my natural skin tone but works nicely when I have some self-tan on. There are around 15+ shades in this foundation, but it would be great to see some more shades added to the line in the future.

The foundation has a lovely light, whipped texture that feels so luxurious when applied. It has a beautifully natural, dewy finish which is right up my alley and smooths over imperfections, doesn’t sink into my pores, or overly emphasize any dryness on my face. The foundation comes with a sponge that you can use to press the foundation into your skin, which is great if you are wanting a fuller coverage, but you can also use a brush if you’re wanting a lighter finish.

This would be a great foundation to wear in the summer months as a single layer provides nice, natural coverage. It is also formulated with broad-spectrum SPF 50 and is oil free. If you find that it is a bit too dewy for your liking, a little bit of powder will help keep it in place throughout the day. If you happen to have a drier skin type like myself, then you can likely skip the powder or use it on key areas that you need it. A little bit of this foundation goes a long way as it spreads out very nicely so I ended up using less than I would with a normal liquid foundation.

The packaging is very true to Lancôme’s iconic style. The compact is sleek with it’s black and gold design, and there is a nice mirror on the inside which is great if you’re bringing this on the go. I love that you are able to pop out your foundation pod and replace it with a refill ($45 CAD) when you run out of product, which is extremely handy and is more cost effective than buying the compact over again. I find that the compact is much less messy than a foundation bottle, and there is even an option to have the compact engraved on the Lancôme website. How awesome is that to have your own personalized compact?

I am quite happy with this foundation overall from how it makes my skin looks, and even feel when it’s on. It pairs nicely with their cushion blushes as well which is a huge plus for me. I have also been testing out their liquid and stick version of Teint Idole as well which I will be sharing my thoughts on soon!
