I have been a member of Influenster for a few years now (sign up here to get your own awesome VoxBoxes!) and a few weeks ago they sent to a truly amazing box, complimentary, full of highlighting goodies to test out and review. I have gushed over Burberry products for quite a while, so when I was chosen to try out these Fresh Glow Essentials I was over the moon!
Burberry is one of those highly covetable makeup brands that just exude luxury. Their sleek gunmetal packaging with plaid embossing is so beautiful to look at, not to mention how pretty they look sitting atop your vanity table. The products themselves are just as amazing, so I am very excited to share my thoughts on them with you. Highlighting is one of my favourite parts of my beauty routine as I really enjoy having a luminous look to my skin. The Burberry Essentials box came with three of their highlighting products: liquid, cream, and powder.
The Golden Radiance Luminous Fluid Base is a golden, terracotta toned liquid illuminator that has just a hint of complimentary golden shimmer throughout. The product blended out nicely overall, but I did find that there were patches of pigment here and there that were hard to blend out. As I have very pale, cool-toned skin this product sadly doesn’t suit me due to its warm undertones but I may try out their Nude toned version in the future to see how it fairs.
Cream highlighters tend to be my favourite as they are very natural looking and can be built up easily. The Nude Radiance Highlighting Luminous Pen has a flattering champagne tone that blends seamlessly into the skin. This looks especially beautiful on the inner corner of the eyes, or on the eyelids or cupids bow for a barely there hint of shine. If you are someone that likes to have a lit from within look, you’ll love this. You can place it strategically to get the specific look you are going for.
I am a fan of anything rose gold, so when I opened up this compact I instantly fell in love. The Burberry Fresh Glow Highlighter has such a beautiful embossed pattern that it almost made me not want to use it- I didn’t want to ruin it! It was too pretty not to use of course, and the powder turned out to be more subtle than I initially thought it would be. It blends nicely onto the skin, but I did notice that it was a tiny bit on the powdery side when swirling my brush around. While the swatch looks quite full-on, it actually just gives a soft glow to the skin when the light catches it. I love the rose tone on my skin as it’s much more forgiving than a warm/golden highlighter.
Overall, Burberry has completely won me over with their highlighting essentials and I have been loving wearing them these past few weeks and haven’t reached for anything else. I’m excited to delve more into their other makeup offerings in the future!
